Where the method comes from

Rainbow Yoga is social yoga: connection before perfection.

Angel and Gopala Yaffa have spent decades exploring how yoga can bring people closer together in body, mind and spirit. Their work helped shape Rainbow Yoga into a colourful, interactive and deeply practical approach where classes are not only about poses, but about belonging, cooperation, confidence, care and joy.

Angel Yaffa

Angel believes in the magic of loving kindness and applies it to everything she shares with the world. She is an earth mumma, a guardian of all who seek sanctuary at Kindred Spirit Farm Animal Sanctuary, and a co-creator of the Rainbow Yoga approach.

Angel's teaching has always carried the feeling children recognise immediately: warmth, wonder, kindness, imagination and a world where hurt is not the centre of the story. Her vision helped make Rainbow Yoga enchanting, family-centred and full of heart.

Founder, co-director and owner

Gopala Amir Yaffa

Gopala began practising yoga and meditation as a teenager, later lived as a Hindu monk for 10 years with the Sivananda Ashrams, and has been teaching yoga since 1995.

He believes happiness is a compass, and that the world changes when we stop being quite so serious and remember how to play, connect, listen and move together. With Angel and their family, he helped create Rainbow Yoga as a social, interactive method for children, families, schools and communities.

The bigger idea

We do not teach children to copy yoga. We help adults create connection children can feel.

Rainbow Yoga is communal, interactive and fun. In our classes people move together, breathe together, create shapes together, laugh together and learn how to care for each other. This is yoga as a living social skill: confidence, cooperation, emotional regulation, communication and belonging.

The old picture of yoga is one person on one mat. Rainbow Yoga widens the circle. We use touch with consent, partner work, stories, massage, group games, mindfulness and movement to build a playful space where every person can feel seen.
